First off, you no longer need to wonder if WordPress is only used for blogs. WordPress has expanded greatly beyond its original role as a blogging platform. It’s more than just a website because it has a fully featured content management system. A blog is nothing more than a collection of articles and stories about various subjects that are arranged in reverse chronological order. It functions as a kind of public diary and covers an infinite number of subjects. But with a content management system, you can create those web pages and write those articles without even needing to hire a professional webmaster each time you want to make a small adjustment. As a result, WordPress is capable of much more than just blogging. It’s not difficult to add a blog post; at the most basic level, all you need to do is type your content, add a few images, and click “Publish.” It’s equally simple to add a new page to your website: The information entry window is the same for both. The formatting instructions are uniform. Both adding photos and videos uses the same process. The only difference is that when you press Publish, you create a web page rather than a blog post, even though the interface is the same. This means that once you have a domain name and hosting space (more on that in a moment), you can create your own website and later add blog posts to it.
